Victoria Sirianni è un'americana di prima generazione cresciuta a Cleveland, Ohio, circondata dalla cultura italiana attraverso la sua famiglia. Questo libro nasce dalla sua passione di catturare le storie che parlano di un patrimonio che si allontana sempre di più con ogni generazione di italoamericani.

Victoria ha studiato storia alla Carnegie Mellon University e ha conseguito un Master in Pedagogia all'Università di Harvard. Ha trascorso gran parte della sua carriera al Massachusetts Institute of Technology, dove le è stata conferita la qualifica di membro onorario nella Classe del 1954.

Ha lavorato come consulente, scrittrice e docente, concentrandosi ora sulla storia e la cultura italoamericana. Divide il suo tempo tra Boston, Massachusetts, e Sulmona, Italia.
